Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup of Highway 412

Help keep our roadside clean and prevent trash from running off into the White River, before it flows into Beaver Lake by coming out for the Adopt-a-Highway Cleanup on Highway 412! Cleanup supplies and refreshments will be provided for volunteers.

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Friday, Jan. 27th

Springdale, AR

Winter in the Garden

Winter workdays at Tricycle Farms will be a mixture of weeding, moving mulch, clearing beds, covering beds with straw, and starting seeds for spring. Special projects will occur in between regular chores as we build new beds, create new paths, become an event center, gather our aquaponics resources, and encounter all the unknowns from working at a farm!

9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Tuesday, Jan. 24th, through Saturday, Jan. 28th

Fayetteville, AR

Feed the Hungry & Homeless – 2016-2017

House of Hope Rescue Mission is a Day Shelter for the homeless and needy. We provide a shelter from the cold or heat and a hot meal to anyone in need. Clients have access to showers and laundry facilities, clothes from our closet and food from our pantry. Don’t worry, if you can’t volunteer for a full day, we’d love to have you for the hours you are available. There are multiple ways to volunteer at the House of Hope.

9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Wednesday, Jan. 25th and Friday, Jan. 27th

Springdale, AR

Monday Night Pantry

Helping our neighbors choose their food in the pantry, spending time to get to know them. Re-bagging product, processing donations, restocking the pantry, and cleaning.

5:30 PM – 7:00 PM

Monday, Jan. 30th

Fayetteville, AR

Mullins Creek Cleanup

Help us clean up Mullins Creek at the UA Fayetteville campus. We need your help to remove trash from the stream which flows into Town Branch and eventually Beaver Lake! All cleanup supplies including trash bags, gloves, and trash pickers will be provided.

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Saturday, Jan. 28th

UA Campus – Lot 56

Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities

Razorback Food Recovery Volunteers

It is estimated that colleges throw away 22 millions pounds of extra food every year. The purpose of Food Recovery is to recover this extra, wholesome food that would otherwise be wasted and donate it to hungry people. Razorback Food Recovery volunteers work with Chartwells Dining Service employees to recover the surplus food on a daily basis.

Tri Cycle Farms Volunteers

Tri Cycle Farms is a nonprofit urban farm that is growing “community through soil” by sharing, teaching, and farming! While farming produce, chickens, and bees in the center of the city, we also strive to promote holistic education by hosting gardening and natural health workshops, as well as annual events, including the Pesto Fest, Make A Difference Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, and the Fayetteville Seed Exchange. We use a collaborative, inclusive, “barn-raising” approach, and always have fun. Volunteers, particularly student volunteers, have been vital in making Tri Cycle the beautiful place that it is. Come get involved in the garden and help us grow community through soil!
